Kathryn Owen joined EWU as Ticket Manager at the start of the 2012 Football season.
After two months as Interim Athletic Ticket Manager, she moved to full time status in November, 2012. She oversees all ticket sales and operations for EWU Football, Volleyball and Men’s and Women’s Basketball.
Before joining Eastern, Owen worked for nearly three years at TicketsWest in Spokane where she helped with ticket sales and operations at a variety of sports, music and performing arts events at the Spokane Arena, INB Performing Arts Center and the Bing Crosby Theater. In 2011, she earned the company’s Customer Service Award. She also worked behind the scenes with a variety of clients, helping set up their events for sale in the TicketsWest system. Owen also spent a season as a ticket seller for the Spokane Indians Baseball team.
Prior to her work in ticketing, Owen spent more than four years at KXLY, eventually becoming producer of Good Morning Northwest on Saturdays and Sundays. She also served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteer with the Northeast Community Center in Spokane, working on homeownership issues. In addition, she was a staff reporter for the Newport Mines and Gem State Miner newspapers in Pend Oreille County.
Owen grew up in Spokane, where she still lives, and graduated from North Central High School in 1994. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Washington State University in 1998.
