Cheney, Wash. – Senior soccer student-athlete Nathalie Schwery and junior cross country student-athlete Vince Hamilton have been selected by the Eastern Washington University Athletics Department as its November Scholar-Athletes of the Month, as announced Monday, Nov. 3.

Schwery hails from Schuepfheim, Switzerland, and carries a 3.96 grade point average as a French major with a minor in education. Hamilton, a native of Spokane, sports a 3.15 grade point average as a communications major.

Schwery stepped up her play in the month of October, recording three shutouts to help the Eagles earn their first bid to the Big Sky Conference Tournament since 2009. Her shutout against North Dakota on Oct. 26 gave her a program-record six shutouts this season.

Hamilton had an impressive October, highlighted by a third-place finish at the Montana Invitational that led Eastern’s men’s team to victory. He followed that up with a solid showing at the Indiana State Pre-Nationals Invitational on Oct. 18, clocking in at 25:31.9 to finish 21st against a tough field.
