A Message from Krysta… Krysta Plato Assistant Athletic Advancement Director
Not only is spring at EWU a chance to watch spring football, but it also means the kickoff to the Eagle Athletic Association Fund Drive. The EAA kicked off their annual Fund Drive on April 6th with 60 volunteers eager and excited to raise money for scholarships and Eastern Athletics. These volunteers will call past EAA members, former student-athletes, parents of current student-athletes, alumni, and other fans for the next five weeks encouraging them to show their support for Eastern Athletics through EAA membership.
EAA members will again have priority for select seating with their 2011-12 season tickets, as well as the opportunity to purchase exclusive tickets to away games such as the University of Washington and University of Montana games. Please go to goeags.com/EAA to learn how you can join the Eagle Athletic Association and how EAA helps the Eagles on the court and field. You may also call the EAA office at 509.359.6208 or email email@example.com. Please help the EAA surpass their 1,000 member goal by becoming part of the "team behind the teams."
The Eagle Athletic Association would like to welcome Eastern's 17th head men's basketball coach-Jim Hayford. Thank you to those who were able to attend the press conference on March 29th.
Dam Cup Update A five sport rivalry between the PSU Vikings and the EWU Eagles
The inaugural 2010-2011 Dam Cup competition between EWU and Portland State concluded on Jan. 27, with an EWU Women’s basketball loss, 77-70. PSU took home the first title with a score of 9-8. The complete rules and results are listed below.
Soccer @ PSU (10/8/10)
Volleyball @ PSU (10/9/10)
Football @ PSU (10/30/10)
Volleyball vs. PSU (11/6/10)
Men's Basketball @ PSU (1/8/11)
Women's Basketball vs. PSU (1/8/11)
Men's Basketball vs. PSU (1/27/11)
Women's Basketball @ PSU (1/27/11)
The Dam Cup is based on a point system. Each game played in the five sports between the two schools has a point value. Points are only rewarded for regular season contests. The annual football game is worth four points, the women’s soccer match is worth one point, each women’s volleyball match is worth two points for a total of four points possible, and each men’s and women’s basketball game is worth two points for a total of four points possible in each sport, The total points possible are 17, which means that to win the cup a school would need to win at least 9 points.

Championship Lights Devoted Eagles fans show support for our champions
The "Go Eagles!" lights which have become a staple along U.S. Highway 904 going into Cheney, have added a new section, "National Champs!" The lights belong to long time EWU employee and EAA member Billie Jean Hall. Hall works in the EWU Admissions office as a program coordinator. Hall has also been a past president of the EAA and is currently on the board of directors.
