Comments From Head Men's Coach Stan Kerr . . .Â
"I'm excited about what lies ahead for our team. Today's performances are far ahead of where we were at this time last year."
Â
"We're proud of both the Stanford and Missoula squads. Chez Jackson had a breakout meet with his high jump and 400 meter race."
Â
"We are looking forward to carrying the good energy from this and the Stanford meet into next week's home meet."
Â
Comments From Head Women's Coach Marcia Mecklenberg . . .Â
"It was a great day for a track meet! We couldn't have asked for better weather. Considering the split squads, with part of the crew at the Stanford Invitational and the rest of the team at Al Manuel, I thought things went pretty well. Given that the Al Manuel was dual scored it was great to have two overall event winners with
Erin Clark in the pole vault and
Erika Lombardo in the 200.
Bridgette Underwood had one of the best Al Manuel marks of the day with a conference qualifying 143-8."
Â
"
Katie Mahoney had the performance of the weekend winning her heat of the 3000 steeplechase with a new school record. You couldn't ask for a better way to start the outdoor season.
Sarah Reiter also ran well in the 10,000 just missing the school record but setting a huge personal record.Â
Kaytlyn Coleman continues to improve in the hammer, throwing over 190 feet for the first time in her career with a mark of 194-6."
Â
"The meets were nice season openers by most of our athletes and we are looking forward to competing on our home turf next weekend at the Pelluer."
