51 Selected to Winter All-Academic Team

To qualify, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 GPA and participate in at least half of the team's competitions

A total of 51 Eastern Washington University student-athletes have been honored on the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team for winter quarter 2017. The total includes 23 from the women's indoor track and field team, 13 men's indoor track and field competitors, eight women's basketball players and seven from the men's basketball squad.

To qualify for the team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 cumulative grade point average or better at EWU and meet the requirement of playing in at least half of the team's competitions (or for cross country and track and field, at least compete in the Big Sky Conference Championship meet).

In the fall, 78 Eastern student-athletes were honored -- 34 football players, 19 members of the women's soccer squad, 11 volleyball players, eight from the women's cross country team and six men's cross country competitors.

A total of 169 EWU student-athletes were honored on the 2015-16 Big Sky All-Academic teams. The total included 54 from the spring -- 26 from the women's outdoor track and field team, 14 from the men's squad, seven men's tennis players, four from women's golf and three from women's tennis. In the winter, 48 were honored -- 25 from the women's indoor track and field team, 10 men's indoor track and field competitors, seven women's basketball players and six from the men's basketball squad. In the fall, the Big Sky recognized 67 Eastern student-athletes -- 30 football players, 18 members of the women's soccer squad, 10 volleyball players, seven from the women's cross country team and two men's cross country competitors.

A total of 172 EWU student-athletes were honored on the 2014-15 Big Sky All-Academic teams -- 20 more than the previous year and believed to be the most in school history. A total of 152 EWU student-athletes were honored on the 2013-14 Big Sky All-Academic teams.
