2009-10 - Indoor: Utilized redshirt season. Outdoor: Stray threw a season-best distance of 148-2 in the hammer throw at the WSU Cougar Invitational during her first year as an Eagle.
High School - Recruited as a hammer thrower, Stray’s best throw as a senior came at the Centralia Hammer Championships with a mark of 144-2. However, that event is not yet a district or state championship event in the state of Washington. Stray also finished eighth in the javelin with a throw of 96-8 at the District 4 2A Championships, with her best effort coming at the Washougal Twilight Invitational with a throw of 100-3. On Bob Gourley’s national rankings list, Stray ranked 25th out of 63 competitors in the hammer with a toss of 145-10 during summer competition after she graduated. Her personal best marks are 25-8 1/2 in the shot put, 74-6 in the discus, 100-3 in the javelin and 145-10 in the hammer. Stray, a three-sport athlete, tore her ACL during her junior season. Stray’s twin sister Jillian will compete for Saint Martin’s University in Lacey.
