High School Cross Country: Macias attended the Oregon State Activities Association (OSAA) State 5A Cross Country Championshipsduring her freshman and sophomore years of high school, placing 56th and 30th, respectively.

High School Track: Macias ran the 100 meters (13.22), the 400 meters (65.65) and the 300 meter hurdles (48.73) in high school. She also ran a leg of the 4x400 meter relay, which placed fourth at the state championships in 2010.
