Tim Armstrong and Warren Miller both hit personal bests, move up in school history
For Kersee Lind, Tim Armstrong and Warren Miller, the 2012 Big Sky Conference Championships started two days early as they competed in the men’s decathlon in Bozeman, Mont.
Lind, a senior who is second in EWU history in the event, finished in seventh place with a score of 6,654. Lind’s best performance came in the 1,500-meter run, as he finished second place in a time of 4:35.11, good for 711 points.
Armstrong finished the decathlon with a personal best score of 6,616, moving him up to third in school history right behind Lind. Armstrong’s previous best was 6,440. He finished eighth overall, good for one point towards EWU’s total.
Miller also had a personal record, as he eclipsed the 6,000-point mark for the first time, scoring 6,205. The mark moved him into Eastern’s top ten list, where he now sits at seventh overall. He finished ninth.
The regular part of the meet will be Friday and Saturday.
