2012-13: Indoor: McLean placed third in the 55 at the Candy Cane Invite with a time of 6.72. His personal best time of 6.68 came in the prelims, which was the third-fastest time at the meet. His best time of 7.24 in the 60 came at the UW Indoor Preview, where he placed second in his heat and 28th overall. He also competed in the 200, running a time of 23.37 at the Idaho Collegiate. Outdoor: McLean’s ran his season best of 11.40 in the 100 at the Idaho Vandal Jamboree to place eighth. His next best time of 11.52 came at the Al Manuel Invitational. At the All-Idaho Cup, he ran a time of 23.68 in the 200. McLean was selected to the winter and spring Big Sky All-Academic teams.

High School: McLean placed 13th in the 100 at the 3A WIAA State Championships with a personal-best time of 10.98. He ran his personal best of 22.76 in the 200 a week earlier at the CBBN/GSL Regional Championships, placing third in the prelims. He lettered four times in track, three times in football and once in wrestling for the Kamiakin Braves. He was First-Team All-MCC in the 100, 4x100 and 4x400, and as a defensive back in football as well. He was Second-Team All-MCC in the 200. McLean improved immensely in the 200 his senior year, going from personal bests in his previous two seasons of 24.04 (sophomore) and 24.30 (junior) to breaking the 23 second mark four times during the 2012 outdoor season. His other personal-best marks came in the long jump (19-2) and triple jump (38-1).

Personal: Intends to major in Engineering. Born 4/30/93 in Kennewick, Wash. His parents are Roy and Nancy McLean. His relative David Thompson is an Eastern graduate.
