Hayford on Hickert: “Jordan gives us great size with tremendous outside shooting from the post position. He made a high percentage from the 3-point stripe in one of the toughest junior college leagues in the country. And he was a starter on two winning teams at Neosho. His play on the Western Australian team showed that he competed quite favorably with other Australian players who have had success at the Division I level.”

Junior College: Attended and played at Neosho County Junior College in Chanute, Kan., for two seasons where he was one of the best junior college 3-point shooters in the nation in the 2010-11 season. Hickert made 56-of-130 3-point attempts, and his 43.1 percent shooting accuracy from the 3-point arc ranked 17th among all National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I players. As a team, Neosho made 43 percent of its treys to rank fourth nationally and first in the Jayhawk Conference. In the 2010-11 season, Hickert averaged 9.6 points on 47.1 percent shooting overall from the field (104-of-221). He made 71.7 percent of his free throws (33-of-46) and also averaged 7.8 rebounds per game to rank sixth in NJCAA Region VI. In addition, he had 14 blocked shots (0.5 per game) and 36 assists (1.1) to help the Panthers finish 16-15 overall and 10-8 in the Jayhawk Conference. As a freshman, Hickert averaged 3.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, and also had 10 blocked shots and 10 assists. The Panthers finished the season 20-11.

High School: Graduated in 2008 from Bunbury Senior High School, which is located in Western Australia. While in Australia, he was selected to play on the Western Australia Country team that played in the U-18 Nationals. He competed in that tournament against future NCAA Division I players such as Patty Mills, who went on to play at Saint Mary’s and is now with the Portland Trailblazers in the National Basketball Association.
