It comes down to three games for all the marbles for the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team. With six teams battling for the final four berths in the Big Sky Conference Tournament, Eastern plays three games against teams that are currently in that league logjam. This week, the Eagles play at Idaho State Thursday (Feb. 23 at 6:05 p.m. Pacific time) and Portland State Saturday (Feb. 25 at 7:05 p.m. Pacific).

At this point, the only bracket the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team is concerned with is in the Big Sky Conference Tournament. But the Eagles put up a mighty fight in a close game Saturday (Feb. 18) at UC Irvine in a Sears ESPN BracketBusters match-up, but fell to the hot-shooting Anteaters 78-73 at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, Calif.

As it turns out, a 19-point halftime deficit was too big a hole to get out of. Sacramento State buried Eastern with six 3-pointers in the first half to take a 40-21 lead at halftime, and Eastern Washington University’s rally came up short as the Hornets beat the Eagles 75-71 Saturday (Feb. 4) at Reese Court in Cheney, Wash.
