Challenging Schedule Includes East Coast Trip
The Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team will get a taste of the new and old Big East Conference this winter. The 31-game schedule for the Eagles includes a trip to the East Coast to play Connecticut and Seton Hall, as well as six opponents who played in national postseason tournaments a year ago.

On an opening weekend in which the Big Sky Conference was unable to come up with a victory versus a NCAA Division I men’s basketball opponent, Eastern Washington University’s Martin Seiferth (pronounced “Mar-Teen Sigh-Fert”) had an individual performance worth remembering. The 6-foot-10 transfer from the University of Oregon has been selected as the first Big Sky Conference Player of the Week for the 2012-13 season after he scored 27 points with 17 rebounds and a school-record seven blocks in EWU’s 96-79 loss to Cal State Northridge on Monday (Nov. 12).
