Eastern guard Tyler Harvey was selected as this week's Big Sky Conference Player of the Week after his 30-point performance against Seattle in an 82-75 victory last Friday (Nov. 29).

5-2 Eagles Tackle Unbeaten Saint Mary’s in Moraga
After a month of progress, the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team will follow that with a month of opportunity. Unbeaten West Coach Conference powerhouse Saint Mary’s will usher in a challenging month of December for the Eagles when they travel to Moraga, Calif., on Sunday (Dec. 8).

Tyler Harvey Scores Career-High 30 in 82-75 Victory Over Redhawks
His first 26 points were impressive, his last four were clutch. Sophomore Tyler Harvey scored a career-high 30 points, including four crucial free throws in the final three minutes, and the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team defeated Seattle 82-75 Friday (Nov. 29) at Reese Court in Cheney, Wash.

Seattle Visits Reese Court Friday in Lone Game of the Week for Eagles
The fourth win this season for the Eagles came a lot sooner than last year. And the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team is hoping the fifth victory comes this Friday when it hosts Seattle at 6 p.m. at Reese Court in Cheney, Wash. As part of a “Black Friday” promotion, upper level tickets at Reese Court are only $2.

Basketball Coaches Shows Begin Tuesday and Football Continues Tonight
Eastern Washington University Coaches Shows on 700 ESPN will take place both today (Nov. 25) and Tuesday (Nov. 26) this week and will feature head men’s basketball coach Jim Hayford in addition to head football coach Beau Baldwin. The public is invited to attend the live shows, which begin at 6 p.m. and are hosted by veteran Eastern announcer Larry Weir.

Eagles Dig Hole in First Half and Fall 81-58 to UC Irvine
Winning three games in three days is a tall order, especially when you lose your shooting eye. The Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team followed a 64 percent shooting night with a 24 percent half and went on to lose to UC Irvine 81-58 Sunday (Nov. 24) at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, Calif., in the 2K Sports Classic benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project.

Eastern Jumps Out to 28-1 Lead in Cruising past LIU Brooklyn 102-70
Junior Parker Kelly from Spokane, Wash., started out red hot, then was joined by his teammates. Six players scored in double figures as the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team opened a 28-1 lead and cruised past LIU Brooklyn 102-100 Saturday (Nov. 23) in Irvine, Calif., in the 2K Sports Classic benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project.

Coming two rebounds shy of a rare 20-20 performance, junior Martin Seiferth finished with 24 points and 18 rebounds as the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball team rolled to a 82-44 victory over Walla Walla Tuesday (Nov. 19) at Reese Court in Cheney, Wash.

Huskies Use 12-0 Second-Half Run to Turn Away EWU Upset Attempt
The turnovers and free throws started mounting, and the lead slipped away. The Eastern Washington University men’s basketball held a double-digit lead much of the game, but a late 12-0 run helped Washington pull away for a 92-80 victory Sunday (Nov. 17) at Alaska Airlines Arena. The game was part of the 2K Sports Classic benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project.

Eagles Sign Will Ferris from Newport HS in Bellevue
Guard Will Ferris, who guided Newport High School in Bellevue, Wash., to a sixth-place state finish a year ago, has signed a letter of intent to attend Eastern Washington University and play for the Eagles next year.

Five Starters Finish in Double Figures in 87-58 Win
Getting rid of the first-game jitters was the main game plan. and Eastern Washington University’s starting five did their part. Sophomore forward Venky Jois had a double-double and EWU’s other four starters scored in double figures to lead the Eagles to an 87-58 men’s basketball victory over Pacific University Sunday (Nov. 10) in the season opener for both teams at Reese Court in Cheney, Wash.

Stuckey’s 40 Ranks 34th on Big Sky List
Rodney Stuckey has played more than 400 regular season games in the National Basketball Association, but his performance two days before Christmas in 2008 was particularly impressive. The former Eastern Washington University All-American scored 40 points for the Detroit Pistons against the Chicago Bulls that night, and, as a result, has been selected No. 34 on the Big Sky Conference list of top moments in the 50-year history of the league.

SEASON OUTLOOK: EWU Hopes Pendulum Swings Eagles Back Into Big Sky Tourney
The pendulum is swinging toward experience for the Eastern Washington University men’s basketball program. A year ago, Eastern utilized six freshmen/sophomores who each started at least three games with a collective total of 97 starts between them. This season, the Eagles will look to those same players – only a more improved and experienced group -- to help get the EWU back to the Big Sky Conference Tournament in the 2013-14 season.

Von Hofe Averages Nearly 10 Points at World Championships
Future Eastern Washington University men’s basketball player Felix Von Hofe averaged nearly 10 points per game and had the second-most 3-pointers made in the entire tournament in leading Australia to a 4-5 record at the recently-concluded International Basketball Federation (FIBA) U19 World Championships at Prague, Czech Republic.
