Idaho State kept Eastern Washington University from clinching the outright Big Sky Conference womens basketball championship last week, but on Friday (March 5) the Bengals helped the Eagles clinch the title and host status for the six-team league tournament on March 11-13.

The first-year Eagle mens basketball player was honored Wednesday (March 3) as the Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year as selected by the leagues nine head coaches. He is the fourth Eagle to earn that honor, joining Rodney Stuckey (2006), Matt Nelson (2004) and Marc Axton (2002) as the previous winners.
