Dec. 18, 2008
The Eastern Washington University versus Missouri Kansas City men's basketball game will take place as scheduled tonight (Dec. 18) at 7:05 p.m. at Reese Court in Cheney, Wash.
More than a foot of snow has fallen in the last 24 hours in the Cheney/Spokane area, making travel difficult. Main arterials in Cheney leading to EWU and the Sports and Recreation Center parking lot have been plowed, thus enabling the teams and officials to make it to the game.
Free admission will be offered, but the school is encouraging fans to carefully assess road conditions before driving to campus. The game is still scheduled to be broadcast via the web at http://www.bigskytv.org and via radio in the Spokane area on 1050-AM in Spokane, with live internet statistics available at: http://www.ewu.edu/groups/athletics/mbasketball/mblivestats/xlive.htm
The 4-8 Kangaroos have been in the Cheney/Spokane area since Tuesday after playing their last two games in Chicago as part of a seven-day road trip. Eastern has been practicing since Tuesday after returning Monday from its road game last Saturday at Hawaii. The Eagles, who are scheduled to play at Washington on Saturday (Dec. 20) and at home against Evergreen State on Monday (Dec. 22), enter tonight's game 6-3.
