2010: Listed as a starter at “field” cornerback on EWU’s preseason depth chart.
2009: Started three games while playing in 11 of 12 Eastern games. He made the first start of his career as an injury replacement for Jesse Hoffman when Eastern played Northern Colorado (9/19/09). He finished that game with a career-high six tackles. He injured his foot against Sacramento State (9/26/09) when he finished with five tackles and missed the following game against Idaho State (10/3/09). He was Eastern’s special teams player of the week versus Portland State (10/31/09). In the spring, he was selected as Eastern’s co-most improved defensive player.
2008: Did not start, but played in eight games and lettered. He had five total tackles, and returned two punts for nine yards and four kickoffs for 92 yards (23.0 average).
2007: Lettered as a backup cornerback and special teams player. Two of his four tackles came against Northern Arizona (11/10/07).
HS: Graduated from Renton HS in 2006. Selected to play in the 4A/3A East-West All-State Game. Was a first team All-Seamount League King Division selection as both a wide receiver and defensive back. Also played basketball for Renton, and finished his senior season with averages of 9.1 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals per game. The Indians, featuring seven seniors, won the first 25 games before losing in the quarterfinals of the State 3A Tournament. Renton then dropped a consolation bracket contest to finish 25-2.
Personal: Born 1/25/88 in Seattle. Last name is pronounced “cal-coat.” Communications studies major.
