2010: Listed as a reserve at free safety on EWU’s preseason depth chart.

2009: Played in seven games as a backup safety and special teams player. He had tackles against Sacramento State (9/26/09) and Southern Utah (11/14/09).

2008: Did not start, but played in seven games to earn a letter.

2007: Redshirted. He was defensive scout team player of the week once.

HS: Graduated from Colville HS in 2007. Earned first team 2A All-State honors at running back from the Associated Press as selected by sports editors and writers, as well as from WashingtonPreps.com. He was also named by the Seattle Times as a “White Chip” selection as one of the top 100 prospects in the state of Washington. Roberts was selected as the Great Northern League Offensive MVP as well as a first team all-league selection at running back as voted on by GNL coaches. He set five school records in his career, including 3,609 career yards (on 404 carries for an 8.9 average per carry), 44 career touchdowns and a long rush of 94 yards. He rushed for a school-record 1,739 yards on 171 carries (10.2 per carry) in his senior season to lead Colville to an 11-1 record and the quarterfinals of the State 2A Playoffs. He finished with 22 touchdowns for his fifth school record. In a 35-14 win over Riverside that clinched the Great Northern League title for Colville, he rushed for 163 yards on just nine carries and scored on an 88-yard run and an 85-yard kickoff return. In a 38-12 first round playoff win over Othello, he had 156 yards. He scored twice, including a 64-yard run, as Colville suffered its first loss of the season with a 28-25 loss to Tumwater in the quarterfinals. Tumwater featured twins Zach and Matt Johnson, who are now his teammates at EWU. As a junior he earned honorable mention 3A All-State honors from WashingtonPreps.com as he rushed for 1,388 yards on 168 carries (8.3 per carry) and 16 touchdowns. He also earned first team all-league honors. As a sophomore he rushed for 482 yards on 65 attempts (7.4 per carry) with six touchdowns. Also competed in track and field at Colville, and as a junior he advanced to the State 2A Championships at EWU’s Woodward Field in the 100 meters.
