2010: Listed as a starter at middle linebacker on EWU’s preseason depth chart. He had 17 tackles in four spring scrimmages.
2009: Played in all 12 Eastern games, including four as a starter as an injury replacement for senior Kyle Wilkins. He made his first career start against Montana (10/17/09) and had nine tackles, then had a season-high 11 against Montana State (10/24/09). He had nine versus Portland State (10/31/09) and five versus Southern Utah (10/14/09) before a knee injury kept him out of the starting lineup for EWU’s final two games of the season.
HS: Graduated from Skyline HS in 2008. Named by the Seattle Times as a “White Chip” selection as one of the top 100 prospects in the state of Washington. Was a first team All-KingCo 3A League selection as a running back. He rushed 212 times for 1,388 yards (6.6 per carry) and 21 touchdowns. He also caught nine passes for 78 yards and a score. He helped lead Skyline to a perfect 14-0 record and the WIAA State 3A title with a 42-35 victory over O’Dea in the championship game. His top performance of the season was 190 yards in a 28-0 victory over Mount Si. He earned honorable mention All-KingCo 3A League honors as a junior when he had 59 carries for 335 yards (5.7 per carry) and five touchdowns. He also caught six passes for 60 yards. His Eagle teammates Jason Harris (’06), Evan Day (’10) and Jase Butorac (’10) also attended Skyline, and Harris and Washburn helped the school win the State 4A title in 2005.
Personal: Born 11/8/89 in Oakland, Calif. Will turn 21 the week between Eastern’s games against Portland State and Southern Utah. Visual communication design major.
