Eagles to Watch NCAA Brackets Revealed Sunday at 7 a.m. at Tawanka

Eagle fans invited to "See Red" and wear red Friday, as Eagles play for Big Sky title Saturday

Eastern Washington University football fans everywhere are encouraged to wear red on Friday (Nov. 19) to help honor the Eagles as they play for the Big Sky Conference title Saturday at Roos Field in Cheney, Wash.

The Eagles are ranked a best-ever third in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision, and need a victory over Idaho State Saturday (Nov. 20) at 1:05 p.m. at the "Inferno" to win their fifth league title as EWU tries to improve to 5-0 on its new red Sprinturf field. Ticket information is available at www.goeags.com.

As a special bonus, fans wearing red or Eastern gear get a 20 percent discount on apparel on "Spirit Fridays" at the EWU Bookstore in Cheney. The offer is good on Thursdays at the Spokane Center Bookstore located at the Schade Towers at 528 E Spokane Falls Blvd. (near the Riverpoint Campus).

Also, fans of early mornings are invited to join head coach Beau Baldwin and some of his players at the Tawanka Dining Hall where they will watch the FCS Playoffs selection show live on ESPNU at 7 a.m. Win or lose Saturday, Eastern expects to be one of the 20 teams selected for the expanded playoffs, which begin Nov. 27. Twelve teams receive byes to the second round on Dec. 4.  Five teams are seeded, which allows those teams to host all games in the playoffs provided they are the higher-seeded team.

Also, Eastern's radio broadcast will have a familiar face in the broadcast booth. Spokane Shock head coach Rob Keefe will handle color commentary in place of Paul Sorensen, who is unavailable because of a family commitment. The broadcast, featuring 20-year play-by-play announcer Larry Weir, may be heard on 700-AM ESPN "The Ticket" and via the web at www.espnnorthwest.com. The game may also be viewed regionally on SWX TV and at www.bigskytv.org.
