He made his starting debut against Western Oregon (9/5/09) and finished with three tackles. He had a season-high four stops with a sack versus Southern Utah (11/14/09). He earned a starting position in the spring as he finished with a pair of sacks, two forced fumbles and three total tackles in Eastern’s Red-White Spring Game.
2008: Redshirted. Was the team’s scout team defensive player of the week once.

Named by the Seattle Times as a “White Chip” selection as one of the top 100 prospects in the state of Washington. Was Defensive Lineman of the Year in the South Puget Sound League 4A South Division as he earned first-team all-league honors as both an offensive lineman and defensive lineman. He had 50 tackles with two sacks as a senior in 2007. Cook was also honored on both sides of the ball as a junior, earning first-team All-SPSL 4A South Division accolades as a defensive lineman and second-team honors as an offensive lineman.
