2011: Listed as a reserve at tight end on preseason depth chart. Moved to tight end from defensive end in the spring. In four spring scrimmages, he caught a pair of passes for 17 yards and a touchdown.

2010: Saw action in 14 Eastern games, including four as a starter in EWU’s first four games. He had three tackles on four different occasions, including against Sacramento State (10/23/10) when he had a forced fumble and a tackle for an eight-yard loss in the 21-14 victory. He helped the Eagle defense rank first nationally in interceptions (total of 26) and turnovers gained (47), and finish sixth nationally in red zone defense, as it allowed just 38 scores in 58 opponent trips inside the Eagle 20-yard line.

2009: He played in all 12 games, including four as a starter. He made his starting debut against Western Oregon (9/5/09) and finished with four tackles. He had a season-high five tackles in another start versus Montana State (10/24/09).

2008: Played in eight games, mostly on the defensive line after starting the year as a tight end. He finished with four tackles, including two versus Northern Colorado (11/8/08). He helped Eastern finish an impressive 11th in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision in rushing defense (93.5), as well as fifth in sacks (3.09 per game) and ninth nationally in tackles for loss (7.9 per game).

2007: Redshirted. Was selected as EWU’s Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year. He was offensive scout team player of the week twice.

HS: Graduated from Roseville HS in 2007. Earned All-Suburban East Conference honors as a tight end as a senior after helping lead his team to a section championship. Roseville finished 8-4 and made the school’s second-ever state playoff appearance. He was team captain in football, basketball and track and field. Roseville won a state championship in track and field his junior season.

Personal: Born 11/22/88 in Maplewood, Minn. Will turn 23 three days after Eastern plays Idaho State. He is an Eagle Scout. Geography major.
