Career: Powers has started 27 career games -- the most among all Eastern players on offense.

2011: Listed as a starter at center on preseason depth chart. Selected to the 28-member Athlon College Football Preview preseason All-America team and Lindy’s College Football Preview also selected him as a first-team preseason All-America choice. He was also a first-team preseason All-American by Phil Steele’s FCS College Football Preview. The Sports Network selected him as one of the top 10 returning offensive linemen in FCS in 2011. Earned preseason All-Big Sky Conference honors as selected by the league’s media and sports information directors, and was also a first-team All-BSC selection by Phil Steele.  

2010: Powers was a first-team choice on The Sports Network FCS All-America team and was named to the Phil Steele Publications All-America third team. He also earned first-team All-Big Sky Conference honors after starting all 15 games at center. He represents the 17th time an EWU offensive lineman has earned All-America accolades in the last 18 years (1993-2010), with Eastern offensive linemen winning 19 first-team All-Big Sky honors in that same time period. Eastern finished the 2010 season ranked 22nd in the FCS in total offense (397.1 yards per game), as well as rankings of 26th in passing (241.0), 49th in rushing (156.1) and 18th in scoring (31.5). He earned team offensive player of the week honors for his performance against Montana State (9/25/10). Named as a preseason second-team All-Big Sky selection by the Phil Steele College Football Preview Magazine.  

2009: Earned honorable-mention All-Big Sky Conference honors. He started all 12 games at center, making his starting debut against Western Oregon (9/5/09). He was the team’s offensive player of the week for his performance against California (9/12/09). He helped Eastern rank in the top 10 in four offensive categories in FCS, including passing (3rd, 321.3), total offense (4th, 462.2) and scoring (8th, 33.7).

2008: Played sparingly as a non-lettering squad member.

2007: Redshirted, but was unable to practice most of the year because of a shoulder injury.

HS: Graduated from Tahoma HS in 2007. Earned honorable-mention 4A All-State honors as a defensive lineman from the Associated Press. He also received 4A All-State first-team honors as a defensive lineman from WashingtonPreps.com. Selected to play in the 4A/3A East-West All-Star football game. He was also named by the Seattle Times as a “White Chip” selection as one of the top 100 prospects in the state of Washington. Powers was also selected to the Seattle Times “Star Times” All-Area team of players from King and Snohomish counties. The Tacoma News Tribune selected him to its All-Area squad as well. He was first-team All-South Puget Sound League 4A North Division as both an offensive and defensive lineman. The league’s coaches also awarded him with the league’s Defensive Lineman of the Year honor. He was a three-year starter at defensive end for Tahoma, which was 10-0 before losing to Woodinville 14-0 in the first round of the State 4A Playoffs. He helped lead his team to back-to-back league titles. As a junior, he earned first-team All-SPSL North Division honors as a defensive lineman. He also earned all-league honors as a sophomore.

Personal: Born 10/2/88 in Newport Beach, Calif. Will turn 23 the day after Eastern plays Weber State. Social studies education major.
