Eagles will start at 10:40 a.m. as spring football practice at EWU begins stretch run
The Eastern Washington University football team will conclude its third week of spring practices with a scrimmage Saturday (April 21) at approximately 10:40 a.m. at Roos Field in Cheney, Wash.
Eastern head coach Beau Baldwin expects the scrimmage to last about 60 plays, and include more drive situations than last week. He said the Eagles will also be in some 2-minute drill situations as well.
The team will begin practicing at 10 a.m. and the actual scrimmage will start at about 10:40 p.m.
The Eagles, who concluded an injury-plagued 2011 season with six wins in their last seven games to finish 6-5, will practice one more week after Saturday’s scrimmage. Spring practices conclude on Saturday, April 28 at 2 p.m. with the annual Red-White Spring Football Game as part of the 31st-Annual Orland Killin Weekend at EWU. The Red-White Game will be televised live in the Spokane area by SWX (SWX Digital 6.2 in Spokane, 25.3 in the Tri-Cities & 23.3 in the Yakima area; Comcast 115; Time Warner 306; Charter 287, Cable One 466).
Eastern opens the 2012 season with road games at Idaho (Aug. 30) and Washington State (Sept. 8). Eastern’s home opener at Roos Field is Sept. 29 versus Montana.
Spring Practice Schedule
Practices take place various days through April 28. Most practices are scheduled to start at 4 p.m. (media interviews at approximately 3:45 p.m. or after practice at about 6 p.m.). All practices take place at Roos Field. Scrimmages also take place on the red Sprinturf surface at the “Inferno” in Cheney, Wash.
