Career: Despite missing most of the 2011 season because of an injury, his 17 career starts rank fourth among returning offensive players.
2012: Listed as a starter at left offensive guard on preseason depth chart. He is capable of playing any of the five offensive line positions, according to coach Aaron Best. Forgette did not participate in spring practices as he continued to recover from a broken fibula suffered in the 2011 season.
2011: After starting Eastern’s first three games of the season at left guard, he broke his fibula against Montana (9/17/11) and missed the rest of the season. He had surgery on Sept. 30 – one of four Eagles to undergo surgery in a five-day span. Earned second team preseason All-Big Sky Conference honors by Phil Steele’s FCS College Football Preview.
2010: Earned All-Big Sky Conference honorable mention accolades after starting 14 of 15 games at left guard for the Eagles. He was also named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team. The only game he didn’t start was versus Idaho State (11/20/10) to enable a senior to start on Senior Day. Eastern finished the 2010 season ranked 22nd in the FCS in total offense (397.1 yards per game), as well as rankings of 26th in passing (241.0), 49th in rushing (156.1) and 18th in scoring (31.5).
2009: Redshirted. Was selected as the team’s offensive scout team player of the week once.
HS: Graduated from Heritage HS in 2009. Selected to play in the 4A/3A East-West All-State Game. Earned first team All-Greater St. Helens League 4A honors as an offensive lineman. Heritage finished the 2008 season 5-5 after going 7-3 his junior season when he also earned all-league honors. Earned three letters in football and twice served as captain. Also an outstanding wrestler at Heritage, lettering three years and earning all-league honors three times. As a senior, he earned All-GSHL 4A first team honors. He won three district titles and advanced to the State 4A Championships, finishing eighth as a senior in the 285-pound weight class. He placed second at the State 4A Track and Field Championships in the discus (156-11) as a senior, but his career-best in that event was 163 feet. He was also eighth in the javelin (190-7) and earned several all-league honors. He also won a variety of academic awards as well. His Eagle teammate Ashton Clark (’09) also attended Heritage.
