HS: Graduated from Cashmere HS in 2013. In four years at Cashmere, the Bulldogs were 37-7, including a 7-2 record as a freshman, 9-3 as a sophomore, 11-1 as a junior and 10-1 as a sophomore. He led the school to a collective record of 21-2 after rushing for 2,354 yards and 47 touchdowns in his final two years of high school. The Bulldogs advanced to the second round of the WIAA State 1A Playoffs in 2011, then lost his senior season in the first round 48-6 to Cle Elum-Roslyn and fellow EWU signee Jake Gall. However, Roberts was unable to play in that game after suffering a season-ending knee injury in the game prior. Was selected to play in the 2A/1A/2B/1B East-West All-State Game on June 22, 2013. Was also named to the Associated Press 1A All-State second team as a running back and linebacker, and was a second team choice as an all-purpose player. He was the 1A Caribou Trail League Offensive MVP as a senior, and also earned first team all-league honors as a defensive back and kick returner. He rushed for 1,050 yards in 2012, with 21 touchdowns and an average of 9.0 yards per carry. Following his junior season, he played in the Offense-Defense Junior All-American Bowl at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. He was a team captain and helped lead his team to a 45-0 victory while playing as a defensive back and wide receiver. Roberts earned his selection by being a MVP at an Offense-Defense Sports full-contact instructional camp in Seattle the previous summer. Roberts was also picked to participate in the U.S. Army National Combine in January 2012. As a junior at Cashmere, he rushed for 1,304 yards with 26 TD and an average of 7.6 yards per rush.
