In addition, WashingtonPreps.com selected him to its 3A All-State first team as both a running back and defensive back. Selected to play in the 4A/3A East-West All-State Game. Named by the Seattle Times as a "Red Chip" selection as one of the top 29 recruits in the state of Washington. The Seattle Times selected him to its "Star Times" All-Area first team as a running back. Also, he was a first team All-WesCo South Division selection as both a running back and defensive back. Besides his 2,000 yards on offense, he finished his senior season with 56 tackles and five interceptions. He also had 211 yards from receptions and 181 yards on returns. He broke the school's single game rushing record three times and twice scored seven touchdowns. As a safety and cornerback he had 56 tackles and five interceptions. He had 288 yards and seven touchdowns in the first three quarters in what appeared to be a runaway victory over Mariner. But when Mariner scored 33 points in the fourth quarter, Hoffman re-entered the game and recovered an onside kick to preserve the 69-60 win. Also played basketball, averaging seven points as a senior after missing his junior season with a shoulder injury. In track, he ran the second leg of the State 3A championship 4x100 relay team, and the anchor leg of the winning 4x400 relay. Both winning times - 42.64 and 3:21.14, respectively - were school records. He was also ninth in the long jump and competed at State in the 100.
