2008: Listed as a starter at punter on EWU's preseason depth chart. Will also hold on kickoffs and extra point attempts.
2007: Punted the entire season, with his average of 39.8 yards per punt ranking 10th in school history and 47th in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (eighth in the Big Sky). He earned Big Sky Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors against Idaho State (9/22/07) when he punted six times for a 47.7 average with a long of 53 and two punts downed inside the ISU 9-yard line. His performance in that game also earned him national player of the week accolades from the Football Gazette. He won the team's special teams player of the week award against ISU and UC Davis (9/15/07) when he punted nine times for a 41.9 average with a long of 55 and three punts downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line. He had a 59-yard punt against McNeese State in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs to rank as the 20th-longest in Eastern history. He was selected as EWU's Scholar-Athlete of the Month in September 2007.
WSU: Transferred to Eastern from Washington State University. He was a walk-on and did not letter.
HS: Graduated from Westview HS in 2004. He was a first team All-Metro Conference selection.
Personal: Born 2/28/86 in Boise, Idaho. Full name is Frederick Charles Brayton III. His father, Fritz Brayton Sr., lettered as a wide receiver at Washington State from 1971-73. His grandfather, Bobo Brayton, was a guard at WSU from 1947-49 and was an All-America baseball player before embarking upon a Hall of Fame baseball coaching career at WSU. From 1962 to 1994, Bobo had a record of 1,116-523-8. His cousin, Tyler Brayton, played college football at Colorado and is now with the Carolina Panthers in the NFL after playing the last five seasons as a defensive lineman for the Oakland Raiders.
