Eastern Washington University's NCAA Football Championship Subdivision Playoff game this Saturday (Dec. 1) against Appalachian State in Boone, N.C., will reach more than 16 million homes nationwide as part of the ESPN Gameplan television coverage of the game.
Among the stations within the State of Washington carrying the broadcast that begins at 9 a.m. Pacific time will be KAYU Channel 28 in Spokane and KCYU Channel 41 in Yakima. It will also be available via Altitude Sports and Entertainment on DirectTV Channel 644 and Dish Network 410.
In all, 10 different markets are carrying the game live and one is carrying it on a tape-delayed basis for a total of 16,870,067 homes reached. The game is being produced by ESPN Gameplan, with the NCAA handling the clearance in television markets nationwide.
Clay Matvick is providing the play-by-play and color is being handled by Jim Hofher. Dave Keeney is the producer.
Eastern's live radio broadcast of the game will be carried on 790-AM in Spokane, and may also be heard on KGTK 920-AM in Olympia/Tacoma, KITZ 1400-AM in Port Orchard/Seattle and via the internet at http://www.790thefan.com.
The radio broadcast will start live at 8 a.m. Pacific time from Boone, N.C., with the Eagle Tailgate Show featuring Paul Seebeck. Larry Weir will handle the play-by-play of the game with color commentary provided by Paul Sorensen.
The EWU Alumni Association has organized a watch party at Winger's in the Spokane Valley (14742 E. Indiana Ave.). Cost is $7 ($5 for children 12-and-under). To register, fans can call 509-359-4550 or go to the alumni website at www.ewu.edu/alumni by 5 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 29).
