Vandals Top Eagles 4-2

The Eastern Washington University men's tennis team was defeated 4-2 by the Idaho Vandals Sunday (Feb. 21) at the Thorpe Fieldhouse in Cheney, Wash.

"The guys played great and fought hard," said head coach Darren Haworth. "We are making huge strides in both singles and doubles with this young team."

Fernando Mussolini picked up his seventh win of the season, the most of any Eagle thus far this season. Nico Riego de Dios and Chad Henninger picked up a win in No. 1 doubles, their second in a row.

Eastern moves to 3-5 overall on the season with the loss and will be back in action at home Friday Feb. 26 against the Idaho State Bengals. The match will begin at 2 p.m.

"We are really looking forward to working hard this week and getting ready for Idaho State on Friday," said Haworth.
