Men's Tennis Squeaks Past Idaho State, 4-3

Cheney, Wash. - The Eastern Washington men's tennis team won four of the six singles matches against Idaho State to steal a 4-3 win in Big Sky play on Friday, Mar. 7.

The Eagles (6-5) dropped the doubles point but fought hard in singles to come back and defeat the Bengals.

Robert Dula and Luke Thompson won the No. 1 doubles match but visiting Idaho State edged out the Eagles' other two doubles pairs to start the match off.

Dula cruised in his first singles match, besting Idaho State's top player 6-3, 6-2. Thompson also made quick work of the Bengals' Austin Miller in the No. 3 position 6-2, 6-2.

Matt Boyle won a hard-fought three-set match in the No. 5 position while Stefan Farrar sealed the win with a 6-3, 7-6 victory in the sixth position.

Eastern is back in action on Friday, Mar. 14, against Weber State at the Spokane Racquet Club in Spokane, Wash. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
