Indoor Best at EWU Pole Vault 16-6 1/2 Outdoor Best at EWU Pole Vault 15-3 2006-07: As a freshman, he placed fourth in the pole vault with a career-best jump of 16-6 1/2 at the 2007 Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships to rank him ninth on Eastern's all-time best list. Chavez placed 16th in the pole vault (14-1 1/4) at the BSC Outdoor Championships. His best pole vault came at the Vandal Outdoor Jamboree, where he placed fourth with a vault of 15-3. He was named Big Sky All-Academic outdoors.
