Camille Moseley and Paul Limpf led the Eastern Washington University men's and women's cross country teams to second and fourth place finishes at the 4th annual EWU Cross Country Invitational Saturday (Oct. 14) at the Sports and Recreation Center in Cheney, Wash.
Moseley and the Eastern women finished in second place in a four team field behind the University of Calgary in the five-kilometer run. Gonzaga University took third, and the University of Calgary "B" team took fourth.
Individually, Mosely finished fourth with a time of 19:00.2, followed by her teammate Mattie Bridgmon in fifth (19:00.9).
The University of Calgary "B" team took first on the men's side, followed by Gonzaga in second. The University of Calgary was third, Eastern took fourth, the University of Idaho fifth and Blackfeet Community College of Montana took sixth.
Limpf took second overall and was the top Eastern runner with a time of 25:05.8 on the eight-kilometer course. Curtis Suver also placed in the top ten for the Eagles, finishing in eighth place with a time of 26:05.1.
Next up for Eastern, the Big Sky Championships in Sacramento, Calif. Saturday Oct. 28. The Eagles will look to better their finishes from last year, when the women took fifth to equal their best finish in school history. The men's team took fourth last year at the BSC Championships, which was also their best finish.
