Men's Cross Country Earns All-Academic Honors

With a cumulative grade point average of 3.290, the Eastern Washington University men's cross country team ranked 27th in the country and earned All-Academic team honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

To earn these honors, a team must compete in the NCAA regional meet and have at least a cumulative team GPA of a 3.0. A total of 86 teams met the standards this season. Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio had the highest GPA at 3.707.

This year's EWU team was coach by Chris Zeller and included seven members: Cody Chappell, Shaun Helm, Tyler Justice, Paul Limpf, Andrew Marks, Curtis Suver, and Eric Walter.

As a team, the Eastern men finished seventh at the 2006 Big Sky Conference Cross Country Championships. The Eagles were led by Limpf and Suver who finished seventh and eighth, respectively, on the 8,000-meter course.
