Stan Kerr Selected to NCAA Committee

Eastern Washington University track and field coach Stan Kerr has been selected as the Big Sky Conference Representative on the NCAA Division I Executive Track & Field Committee. He will be taking over the position from Jim Blaisdell of Weber State University.
His duties will include a monthly conference call, committee work (rules, championships, etc.), attendance at the NCAA National Convention and meetings at the national track and field championships.
Topics currently being considered by the committee include the transition from the four region to two region format that takes effect in 2010, site selection for the regional and the regional meet schedule.
The committee is comprised of the four executive officers, 32 conference representatives and two at-large representatives.
Stan enters his 14th season as head men’s track and field/cross country coach. He coaches Eastern competitors in the sprints, hurdles and combined events. During his tenure at EWU, Kerr’s teams have had one NCAA All-American (Kurt Kraemer in 2001), 23 individual Big Sky Conference champions and 80 Big Sky All-Conference performers. He received both his bachelor’s degree in 1980 and master’s degree in 1993 from Eastern.
