Curtis Suver Named Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Eastern Washington University senior Curtis Suver was named Big Sky Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Ken Shannon Invitational Friday (May 4) in Seattle, Wash.

Suver had a time of 3:48.56 to place fifth in the 1,500-meter run. His mark ranks third all-time in school history. Suver's previous best time came earlier this season with a time of 3:51.44 at the Duane Hartman Invitational.

Suver and his Eastern teammates will head to the Big Sky Outdoor Conference Championships in Pocatello, Idaho (May 9-12). More than 40 athletes will be competing at the meet.

In Pocatello, Suver will be running the 5,000. His qualifying mark is 14:24.63, which ranks him fourth all-time in school history and in the Big Sky this season. In the 2007 Big Sky Conference indoor season, Suver placed third in the 5,000.
