Head Coach Wendy Schuller: "Jessica is a junior college transfer coming off of an achilles injury. At this point we are easing her back into basketball more than anything. It might take her until January to get back into sync and play at the pace and speed that she needs to play. She's an extremely tough player plays hard and is relentless. She shoots it well and she can play inside a little bit -- she is an undersized post but rebounds and defends well."
Junior College: Thielen played one season at North Idaho College in Coeur' d'Alene, Idaho, but missed the 2008-09 season with an injury. The year before, she was the only freshman in the league to be named first team All-Scenic West Athletic Conference. She ranked in the top 15 in the SWAC in six different categories, including eighth in scoring (10.9 ppg), 12th in rebounding (5.4 pg), and 11th in field goal percentage (38).
High School: Graduated from Mount Baker Secondary School in 2006. She averaged 15 points, seven rebounds, and six assists per game as a senior. Thielen was named the top female athlete at her high school.
