Currie begins his first season with Eastern Washington in 2014-15.
A Spokane native and Ferris High School graduate, Currie joins the Eagles after coaching stops at Florida Southern, Nebraska and Arizona State. He spent the 2012-13 season as an assistant coach at Florida Southern, coordinating the team's academic program while managing the booster club and working with opponent scouting, post player development and strength and conditioning.
Prior to his stay in Lakeland, Florida, Currie was a graduate assistant coach at Nebraska from 2010-12, assisting with recruiting while serving as the director of the program's individual and team camps. His first coaching stint came in Tempe, Arizona, where he spent two seasons with Arizona State's women's program as a graduate assistant. His duties included the coordination of fundraising and promotions as well as social media.
Currie spent the past season as the head coach of the girl's basketball program at Chase Middle School while volunteering with the girl's basketball program at Ferris.
Currie earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Washington in 2008, then went on to earn a master's in higher education from Arizona State in 2010. He received his second master's degree, this time in educational administration, from Nebraska in 2012.
