2006-07: Darnell was honored as a member of the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team for winter quarter 2007. She contributed for the Eagles throughout the season, seeing time in 17 games. In the team's opening-game victory over Montana Tech, she nailed a three and finished with five points. She shot 66.7 percent from the floor (2-of-3) and finished with six points, five rebounds and a block in Eastern's win over Corban College. She had four rebounds against No. 9 LSU. Darnell played 22 minutes in the Idaho contest, finishing with six points on 3-of-5 shooting. Against Washington State, she had a season-high two assists to go with four rebounds. Shot 2-of-3 from the floor in the home game with Idaho State, finishing with four points. The Rathdrum, Idaho, native had nearly half of her season free throws at Northern Arizona, nailing 5-of-6 attempts and finishing with five points. She contributed a block against Sacramento State. BBCC: Darnell was named the Most Valuable Player at Big Bend Community College (Moses Lake, Wash.) in 2005-06 and earned First Team All-Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) honors. She was named to the NWAACC All-Academic Team after earning a 3.86 GPA. Personal: Darnell played high school ball at Lakeland High School in Rathdrum, Idaho. Her freshman and sophomore years LHS claimed state titles. She earned All-Inland Empire League accolades as a junior and was named the league MVP her senior year. In addition to four basketball letters, she earned three in track and field and one in soccer. She is the daughter of LeRoy and Sheryl Darnell and has two sisters, Shaylynn, 32, and Jessica, 27, and a brother, Todg, 47. Darnell is majoring in biology.
