36 Selected to Spring All-Academic Team
A total of 36 Eastern Washington University student-athletes have been honored on the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team for the 2012 spring quarter. Of the total, 14 were from the women's outdoor track and field team, 13 from the men's outdoor squad, four from men's tennis, three from women's golf and two from women's tennis.

Men’s Cross Country and Women’s Golf Highlight Eastern’s Latest APR Report
For the fourth year in a row, the Eastern Washington University men’s cross country was honored with a Public Recognition Award for posting a perfect Academic Progress Rate of 1,000. But this year, the cross country team was not the only Eastern squad mentioned on the prestigious list. The EWU women’s golf team also garnered a Public Recognition Award for a perfect multi-year rate of 1,000.

Howe Signs Two More High School Standouts to National Letters of Intent
With a few strokes of a pen, the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team has nearly doubled its roster. Head coach Brenda Howe recently announced the final two additions to her 2012 recruiting class, which brings her roster numbers for next season from four to seven. oining Moscow native Taylor Anderson, who signed a National Letter of Intent with EWU during the fall, is Maddie Dodge out of Post Falls, Idaho, and Marissa Borja from Spring Valley, Calif.

Carbon Has Career Day, as Eagles Finish Eighth at 2012 Big Sky Championship
To cap off the 2011-12 campaign, the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team turned in its best round of the year. The Eagles fired a 313 on the third and final day of the 2012 Big Sky Conference Championship in Chandler, Ariz., tying their lowest round of both the fall and spring seasons.

Eagles Remain in Eighth After Day Two of Big Sky Championship
The Eastern Washington University women’s golf team was on pace for another decent day at the Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz., but encountered an unfortunate incident that left the team in a tough position at the 2012 Big Sky Conference Championship. After an inadvertent error in score reporting, the Eagles ended up with a second-round total of 323. So after 36 holes, Eastern sits in eighth place with a cumulative team effort of 637 (314-323).

Although the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team sits in a familiar spot after day one of the 2012 Big Sky Conference Championship, the Eags are certainly within striking distance of several other squads.

Eagles Head Back to Ocotillo for 2012 Big Sky Championship
The Eastern Washington University women’s golf team is realistic about the expectations heading into the 2012 Big Sky Conference Golf Championship, which begins Sunday (April 22) in Chandler, Ariz. But EWU head coach Brenda Howe is hopeful that in this final, and most important, event of the season, her team taps into its competitive edge and ends up surprising themselves and the rest of field.

Eastern Finishes 23rd at Wyoming Cowgirl Classic
There is probably no better way to prepare for the Big Sky Conference Championship than to play in a tournament held on the exact same course against all the same competition just two weeks before. And that is exactly what the Eastern Washington University golf team did. Playing in this event for the fifth year in a row, the 2012 Eagle squad took 23rd at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz.

Eagles Claim Podium Spot at Butler Spring Invitational
After seven tournaments this season in western United States, the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team ventured to new territory for the Butler Spring Invitational in Avon, Ind. The Eagles shot a total team score of 674 (336-338) to finish third out of six teams at the Prestwick Country Club. Eastern was just three strokes back from runner-up, Evansville, which finished at 671 (334-337).

Eagles Take 15th in Abbreviated Bison Challenge
Due to windy conditions at the Paiute Golf Resort in Las Vegas, Nev., the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team was only able to complete two of three rounds at the inaugural Bison Challenge. The final day of competition on the Snow Mountain Course was cancelled because high winds were causing balls to move and roll off the greens. As a result, standings after 36 holes were official.

Local Product Taylor Anderson Joins EWU Women’s Golf Program
Throughout her four years at Moscow High School, Taylor Anderson excelled in three different sports. But starting next fall, she will direct her attention to just one. Anderson has signed a national letter of intent to play golf at Eastern Washington University.

Eagles Off to Vegas for Bison Challenge
The Eastern Washington University women’s golf team heads to Las Vegas, Nev., this weekend for the inaugural Bison Challenge at Paiute, hosted by Bucknell University. The Eagles will have a busy two days in the Sin City, as they play 36 holes on Friday (March 16) and another 18 on Saturday (March 17).

Freshman Rice Leads Eagles at Red Rocks Invitational
Competing for the second-straight year at the Red Rocks Invitational, the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team took 15th out of 20 teams at the Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona, Ariz.The Eagles posted a total team score of 673 (335-338), which was four strokes better than last year’s effort. Freshman Caitilin Rice was the top performer for EWU, as she shot 164 (81-83) in the 36-hole event. The Seattle, Wash., native tied for 55th out of 116 total golfers.

Women’s Golf Gears Up for Red Rocks Invitational
The Eastern Washington University golf team will head to sunny Sedona, Ariz., this weekend for the Red Rocks Invitational at the Oakcreek Country Club. The field includes 20 total teams, five of which hail from the Big Sky Conference. In addition to host Northern Arizona, the Eagles will see Montana, Montana State, Northern Colorado and Weber State.

Eagles Finish 11th in Spring Season Opener
The Eastern Washington University women’s golf team had a promising first round at the Folino Invitational in Industry Hills, Calif., but the after 36 more holes, the Eagle squad ended up finishing 11th out of 12 in its first event of the 2012 spring season. With a first-round score of 323, Eastern sat in eighth place after the first day of competition from the Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms.

Eagles Kick Off Spring Season at Folino Invitational
The Eastern Washington University women’s golf team will hit the greens for the first time this season at the Folino Invitational in Industry Hills, Calif. The 54-hole tournament begins today (Feb. 19) and will run through Tuesday (Feb. 21). The teams will play one round each day on a par 71 course at the Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms.

After Superior Second and Third Rounds, Eagles Tie for 11th at Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate
It took a little time, but the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team finally got things rolling. In the final round of its final tournament of the fall season, Eastern shot a season-low 313 to finish tied for 11th out 15 teams at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate.

Eagles Take 14th at Rose City Collegiate
Playing in its third tournament in as many weeks, the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team finished 14th at the 2011 Rose City Collegiate, held Monday (Sept. 26) and Tuesday (Sept. 27) at the Langdon Farms Golf Club in Portland, Ore. Of its first three events of the fall season, this tournament proved to be most challenging for EWU, as the Eags posted a total team score of 991 (331-334-326) to finish last in the 14-team field, which did include four of nine Big Sky schools.

Eagles Wrap Up Tournament Play from Pullman
Despite a less than favorable team finish, the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team had plenty of positives to take away from its second event of the 2011 fall season. The Eagles finished 13th out of 13 at the Cougar Cup, held Monday (Sept. 19) and Tuesday (Sept. 20) in Pullman, Wash. After enduring some wild winds in the first round, Eastern finished with a cumulative team effort of 983 (339-321-323).

Carbon has Career Performance, as Eagles Finish 21st at Circling Raven
The Eastern Washington University women’s golf team had an encouraging experience in its first tournament of the 2011-12 season, but the team is still looking to refine a few final pieces. The Eagles recorded a total team score of 969 (326-323-320) to finish 21st out of 22 Division I teams at the Circling Raven Collegiate Invitational in Worley, Idaho.

Eagles Make Season Debut at Circling Raven Collegiate Invitational
For the second year in a row, the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team will open its season at the Circling Raven Collegiate Invitational, held Monday (Sept. 12) and Tuesday (Sept. 13) at the Circling Raven Golf Course in Worley, Idaho. The event, hosted by Gonzaga, will feature 22 schools from all over the country, including seven of nine Big Sky Conference teams.
