2007-08: Gargaro had an outstanding freshman campaign for the Eagles, as she recorded the third-lowest round average in a season in Eastern Washington history, 77.07 (2,081 strokes in 27 rounds). For her efforts, she earned All-Big Sky Conference first team accolades and was named the Big Sky Freshman of the Year, a first in Eastern history. In addition, she performed well in the classroom and attained All-Big Sky Academic accolades. Gargaro also was named Big Sky Golfer of the Week on two occasions, becoming just the third Eagle to do so twice in the same season. The first time came after she carded a 224 to tie for 31st in the power-packed field at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown which included 10 teams ranked among the top 30 nationally. Then she claimed the title at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic with a 221, tied for the sixth-lowest three-round total ever posted by an Eagle. The individual championship was the first earned by an Eastern player since Kelly Gardner did so at the Pilot Women's Invitational in April 2004. Her 69 in the third round at that event not only tied for the third-lowest round in EWU annals, but set the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic record in that category. Gargaro also helped Eastern Washington as a team to the title at that tournament, marking the first time ever that the Eagles had claimed both the individual and team crowns at the same tournament. She also helped Eastern claim the team title at the MDA Invitational when she tied for seventh at that event with a 228. In addition, Gargaro tied for the sixth-lowest two-round total when she shot a 150 at the Aztec Fall Classic. At the Big Sky Championship, she tied for 10th place with a 230.
