Marli Mikulecky, a rising senior with the Eastern Washington University women's golf team, finished up play at the Royale Cup Canadian Women's Amateur Championship on Friday (Aug. 1) with a 317 (76-82-85-74). Her score placed her in a 61st-place stalemate.
The tournament, the national championship for amateur golfers in Canada, was hosted by the Elmhurst Golf & Country Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba, from Tuesday-Friday (July 29-Aug. 1).
With the Eagles this past school year, the Osoyoos, B.C., native posted the second-best scoring average in school history (76.63 - 1,839 strokes in 24 rounds) and earned All-Big Sky Conference first team accolades.
The highlight of her Eagle campaign came on March 12, when she broke the school record for lowest round with a 67 at the UNLV Spring Invitational. Mikulecky also had a hole in one in that round.
