Eagles Sign Eight for 2010 Soccer Season
Eight student-athletes have signed letters of intent with the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team, head coach George Hageage announced. The signees will join the team for the 2010 season.

52 Selected to Fall All-Academic Team
A total of 52 Eastern Washington University student-athletes have been honored on the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team for fall quarter 2009. Of the total, 20 were from football, 11 from volleyball, seven from women's soccer, seven from women's cross country and five from men's cross country.

Chelsey Hannesson Earns Golden Eagle Award
Senior Chelsey Hannesson of the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team was given the Golden Eagle Award, Iron Eagle Award and Co-Defensive MVP at the 2009 banquet on Jan. 30.

Comeback Season Finally Comes to an End
The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team had been selected last in the Big Sky Conference preseason coaches poll, but proceeded to then come out and have one of the best league seasons in school history, finishing in second place with a 4-2-1 Big Sky mark. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the season finally came to an end on Friday afternoon in a 2-1 loss to Idaho State in a Big Sky semifinal.

The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team takes on Idaho State in a Big Sky Conference semifinal at 1:30 p.m. on Friday in Portland, Ore. The winner of that contest will play the victor in the Portland State-Northern Arizona contest at 11 a.m. on Sunday to decide the Big Sky champion.

Three Eagles Named First Team All-Big Sky
The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team had three players named to the All-Big Sky Conference first team after an outstanding season saw the Eagles claim second place in the conference with a 4-2-1 record. Entering the 2009 season, five times had an Eastern player earn first-team accolades.

Dimak Named Big Sky Co-Player of the Week
Lisa Dimak of the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team was named the Co-Player of the Week for the Big Sky Conference after posting her fourth shutout of the season on Friday in a 1-0 away win over Montana. The result allowed the Eagles to finish second in the Big Sky this season.

The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team defeated Montana 1-0 on Friday afternoon to qualify for the Big Sky Conference Championship for the first time since 2005. Brittney Doran scored in the ninth minute to earn Eastern the crucial road win.

The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team finished up a disappointing road trip with a 4-2 loss to Northern Arizona on Sunday afternoon, dropping to 3-2-1 in Big Sky play, 6-8-1 overall. Earning the Eagles a 1-0 advantage today was Brittany Sparks – her goal, the 14th of her career, tied the school record for career scores.

The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team got its only extended road trip of the Big Sky Conference season off to an inauspicious start with a 4-0 loss to Northern Colorado on Friday evening (Oct. 23). The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team broke a stalemate for first place in the Big Sky Conference standings with a 1-0 win over Sacramento State on Sunday afternoon. The teams had entered the weekend tied for first, and the win puts Eastern in sole possession of the top spot with a 3-0-1 league mark.

Eagles Move to 2-0 in Big Sky for 1st Time
The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team knocked off Idaho State 1-0 in a Big Sky Conference game on Sunday morning to move to 2-0 in league play for the first time in history (EWU started 1-0-1 in 2004 and 2005). The win was the third straight for the Eagles (5-6-1), tying a school record that was set in 2002 and tied in 2004 and 2007.

Eagles Beat Weber State in Ogden for First Time
In cold, rainy conditions, the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team knocked off Weber State in Ogden, Utah, for the first time in history on Thursday afternoon. Lauren Jacobsen scored her first goal of the freshman’s career at the 5:33 mark, and goalkeeper Lisa Dimak saved a penalty kick at the 77:29 mark to help secure Eastern’s 1-0 victory.

The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team will be raising money for the fight against breast cancer and will be selling pink cookies outside the Pence Union Building (PUB) on campus for four hours on Friday morning (Oct. 2), starting at 9 a.m. The team will also sell cookies at the volleyball match that evening, as the Eagles play Sacramento State at 7 that night.
