Eastern Soccer Unveils 2012 Schedule
The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team released its 2012 schedule, which features eight home matches and nine on the road, plus one exhibition game against the Cougars of Washington State to open the season.

Eagle Soccer Gives Back to Community with a Special Youth Soccer Jamboree
When it comes to community service, the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team has truly gone above and beyond. This Saturday (May 19th) at the EWU Sports and Recreation Varsity Soccer Field, the Eagles will host a 5-A-Side soccer tournament for children aged 4-19 who suffer from physical and/or developmental disabilities.

Local Talent Dominates Eastern’s 2012 Recruiting Class
Eastern Washington University head women’s soccer coach George Hageage did not have to travel far to find the quality of person and player he desired for the program. Of the six new athletes who have signed national letters of intent to play soccer at Eastern starting in 2012, three are from the Spokane area, and another is a product of Lake City High School in Hayden, Idaho.

EWU Volleyball and Soccer Squads in Action This Weekend
After a few weeks of hard work in the gym and on the field, the Eastern Washington University volleyball and soccer teams will have a chance to showcase their skills to the fans this Saturday (April 28) when they host home scrimmages as part of the 31st Annual Orland Killin weekend at EWU. Both scrimmages are FREE and open to the public.

54 Selected to Fall All-Academic Team
A total of 54 Eastern Washington University student-athletes have been honored on the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team for fall quarter 2011. Of the total, 18 were from women's soccer, 16 from football, 10 from volleyball, seven from women's cross country and three from men's cross country.

Jarrett and Walker are November Scholar-Athletes
Mike Jarrett of the Eastern Washington University football team and Jamie Walker from the women’s soccer program were selected as the EWU Athletic Department Scholar-Athletes of the Month. This award recognizes the athletic and academic success of student-athletes, based primarily on performances turned in during the month prior.

Brannan Honored on All-Big Sky Second Team; Four Other Eagles Earn Honorable Mention Accolades
The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team had five players recognized on the All-Big Sky Conference teams, which were released Monday (Oct. 31) by the league office. Highlighting the list for EWU was senior forward Whitney Brannan, who was selected to the All-Big Sky Second Team.

Eagles Fall to Redhawks On Senior Day
On a rainy day in Cheney, Wash., the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team failed to send its seniors off with one final victory, as it lost to Seattle University 5-0 on Sunday (Oct. 30). The Eagles end the season with a 2-13-1 record. Eastern honored four seniors prior to kickoff at Sunday's game, including Whitney Brannan, Dashia Huff, Kirsten Fausko and Melanie Kitsman.

Eagles Host Seattle in Final Test of 2011
In the midst of a rebuilding year for the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team, the Eagles missed out on a bid to the Big Sky Conference tournament. The Eagles finished eighth in the league race with a 1-5-1 record, but despite its absence from the postseason, this young squad still has one more opportunity to learn and grow as a unit, and hopefully end the year on a high note.

Northern Arizona's Physical Play Leads to 3-0 Loss for Eagles

Eagles and Bears Battle to 1-1 Draw
After 110 minutes of competitive play, neither Eastern Washington nor Northern Colorado could come away with a victory on Friday (Oct. 21) in Cheney, Wash., as the Eagles and Bears ended the match deadlocked at 1-1. Eastern scored right out of the gate, and then held on to that one-goal lead for nearly 70 minutes. But the Bears managed to find the equalizer on a lucky rebound off a free kick.

Eastern Sweeps Big Sky Player of the Week Honors
The celebration continues for the Eastern Washington University soccer team. After earning its first win of the Big Sky Conference season against top-seeded Weber State, the Eagles were honored with a sweep of the Big Sky Player of the Week awards, announced Monday (Oct. 17) by the league office. Senior forward Whitney Brannan was selected as the Offensive POW, while junior goalkeeper Jamie Walker earned Co- Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

Eagles Shut-Out Wildcats, 3-0, for First Win of Big Sky Season!
After coming away empty handed despite a number of quality scoring opportunities in its first four Big Sky games, the Eastern Washington University women's soccer team finally found the back of the net - three times in fact. Eastern defeated the Weber State Wildcats 3-0 on Saturday (Oct. 15) in Ogden, Utah.

Brannan Scores Second Goal of the Season, but Eagles Fall to Bengals
The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team can't seem to catch a break. The Eagles dropped a 2-1 decision to the Idaho State Bengals on Thursday (Oct. 13) in Pocatello, Idaho. Eastern's record now stands at 1-11-0 (0-4 Big Sky), with four games remaining this season. Today's loss was EWU's fifth straight one-goal loss.

Still Searching for First Big Sky Win, Eagles Hit the Road to Face Bengals and Wildcats
The story has been the same in each of its first three Big Sky Conference games. In three-straight outings, the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team has conceded one goal late in the second half, and has not been able to find the equalizer, thus resulting in a disheartening 1-0 loss for the red and white.

Eastern Loses Another One-Goal Game
For the fourth game in a row, the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team lost by a score of 1-0 due to a second half goal, this time at the hands of the Sacramento State Hornets, reigning Big Sky Conference tournament champions, on Sunday (Oct. 9) in Cheney, Wash. Eastern’s record falls to 1-9-0 (0-3-0 Big Sky) and Sac State’s is now 6-7-0 (2-1-0).

Vikings Edge Eagles on Late Second-Half Goal
For the third straight game, the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team fell victim to another second-half goal, as the Portland State Vikings topped Eastern 1-0, on Friday (Oct. 7) in Cheney, Wash. The Eagles fall to 1-8-0 (0-2-0 Big Sky) on the season as the Vikings improved to 6-6-0 (2-0-0).

Eagles Prepare for Busy Weekend at Home against Portland State and Sacramento State
The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team returns to Cheney this weekend for a pair of Big Sky Conference matches against Portland State and Sacramento State, both of which were Big Sky tournament teams from a year ago. After holding off the Grizzlies for 85 minutes, the Eastern Washington university women's soccer team conceded a goal off a free kick late in the game, allowing Montana to escape with a 1-0 victory in the first Big Sky Conference match of the season on Friday (Sept. 30) in Missoula, Mont.

Eagles Show Toughness in 1-0 Loss to Idaho
The Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team put up a respectable fight on Sunday (Sept. 25) afternoon in Moscow, Idaho, but the Eagles fell 1-0 to the Idaho Vandals in the final tune-up before Big Sky play begins next Friday at Montana. The lone goal of the game came in the first minute of the second half when Idaho’s Jill Flockhart converted on a scramble in the box following a corner kick.

Eagles Host Geoducks Friday in First-Ever Meeting
Although the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer has yet to capture a win in the 2011 season, the Eagles had scored at least one goal in its first five games of the year. However, that streak ended Saturday when EWU suffered a 4-0 shutout at the hands of Gonzaga. When the Eagles take the field this Friday (Sept. 16), they will be looking to not only score goals, but to make sure it's more than the opponent.

After one half of stellar play, the Eastern women’s soccer team failed to capture its first win of the young season, falling to the Boise State Broncos 2-1 at the 2011 Bronco Invite in Boise, Idaho. Unfortunately the game wasn’t the biggest loss of the day for the Eagles, as senior defender Dashia Huff was injured and had the leave the field with 15 minutes remaining in the game. Her status is unknown.

Eastern Goalkeeping Coach Tamara Hageage Honored by Alma Mater
In 1991, Eastern Washington University women’s soccer goalkeeping coach Tamara Hageage transferred from the highly-successful Colorado College to be part of the first-ever women’s soccer program at the University of Washington, established by her former coach at CC, Dang Pibulvech. Now, twenty years later, Hageage, along with many other notable Huskies, are being recognized for their contributions to the now nationally-ranked program.

Fausko Honored on All-Tournament Team
Senior Kirsten Fausko of the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team was recognized for her strong performance this past weekend at the 5th Annual Embassy Suites Kick-Off Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. Fausko, a native of Auburn, Wash., was one of two forwards named to the All-Tournament team, which is selected by a panel of coaches, SID’s and media members at the event.

Eagles Fall in Season Opener, 4-1
With an entirely new squad in place, the Eastern Washington University women’s soccer team knew it might take some time to work out the kinks. This young Eagle squad opened the 2011 season with a 4-1 loss to Florida Gulf Coast on Friday (Aug. 19) in Fort Myers. Fla. The time of possession for each team was fairly even, and the shot differential was a mere three, but a few breakdowns by Eastern’s young defensive unit allowed Florida Gulf Coast too many open looks at the net.

Eagle Soccer Adds Julio Morales to Coaching Staff
After a brief stint with the Eagles in 2007, Julio Morales returns to Eastern Washington University as the new assistant women’s soccer coach, announced Wednesday (April 20) by head coach George Hageage. Morales was a member of the EWU staff during the 2007 season, helping primarily with the junior varsity squad.

Eagle Soccer Adds 10 for 2011
Eastern Washington University head women’s soccer coach George Hageage has added 10 new players to his roster for the upcoming 2011 season. Among the signees are five high school seniors from the state of Washington, two junior college transfers and one international recruit, who has experience playing with several youth national teams in her native country. Hageage will also welcome two talented players from Oregon and Colorado.
