Max Weber Joins @EWUSoccer Coaching Staff As Assistant Coach
Max Weber will join the Eastern Washington women's soccer program as its top assistant coach for the 2014 season, head coach Chad Bodnar announced Monday, Feb. 24.
Weber will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of EWU Soccer, as well as on-field coaching.
"Max has been a very loyal and hardworking individual for me, first as a player and then as a coach," Bodnar said. "He knows the region and recruiting very well, and has become very well connected throughout the Northwest soccer community over the last few years. I am very excited that Max and his wife, Alysse, have decided to come to Cheney and I look forward to continuing to work with Max."
Weber spent the past six seasons as Bodnar's top assistant at Walla Walla Community College, helping the Warriors win four NWAACC championships and a combined 10 East Region titles with the men's and women's soccer programs.
Prior to his coaching career, Weber had a very successful playing career at both Walla Walla CC and Whitman College. A team captain at both stops, Weber earned academic all-conference honors in each of his four collegiate seasons. He was a two-year starter for WWCC and led the men's team to a second place finish in the 2005 NWAACC Championship.
Weber finished his collegiate career at Whitman College, captaining the team and leading them to one of its best finishes in school history. In his senior season at Whitman, Weber received the R.V. Borleske Trophy, given annually to the school's top male athlete.
Weber currently holds a USSF "B" License and has been the Three Rivers Soccer Club Assistant Director of Coaching for the women's program.
Weber and his wife, Alysse, currently reside in Walla Walla.
