2008: Her first year as an Eagle, Byrne served as a stabilizing force in the back and earned All-Big Sky second team accolades following her impressive season. Offensively, she also tallied two assists. The first came on a score that allowed Eastern to pull to within one of Cal State Bakersfield in a 3-2 loss to the Roadrunners. Her other helper came on Eastern’s goal in a 3-1 loss at Washington State. That score snapped WSU’s home scoreless streak at 397:57.
High School: Her senior year at Thomas Jefferson High School, Byrne was named first team All-South Puget Sound League and was the team’s Most Valuable Player. She helped her squad to two league championships the four years she was on the team. Three times, she was named All-SPSL. She also saw success on the softball diamond at TJHS, earning All-SPSL honors three times in that sport, as well. Her parents are Thomas and Kimberli Byrne, and she intends to major in elementary education.
