Cyeeta Mott of the Eastern Washington University women's soccer team moved to just one career goal and point shy of tying school records with a first-half strike in Eastern 3-1 lost to Boise State Sunday (Sept. 16).
The visiting Eagles (2-3-0) started off strong when Mott fired a cross from junior Jocelyn Bement into the net in the fourth minute. That goal brought Mott within one goal and point from tying Jennie Summers' (2002-05) records of 11 and 26, respectfully.
Boise State (3-3-0) scored three goals in the second half by Kaylea Perenon in the 54th minute, Brittney Dugger in the 77th minute and, with only a second remaining on the clock, Shannon Saxton. Saxton assisted on Perenon's goal while the other two were unassisted.
The Eagles had a total of 13 shots and Boise State tallied 14.
The Eagles will head home to play a non-conference match against Utah State at 11 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 23).
