Eagles Unable to Score in Loss to Oregon

The Eastern Washington University women's soccer team tied Oregon in shots, but the Ducks scored the game's lone goal in a non-conference game Saturday (Sept. 17) at the Sports and Recreation Center in Cheney, Wash.

Tiffany Smith scored for the Ducks (4-3-0) at the 10:19 mark in the first half. The final 80 minutes were scoreless as the Eagles (1-6-1) and Oregon each took 12 shots in the game.

Oregon goalkeeper Emily Zaler recorded the shutout and had seven saves. Cyeeta Mott and Brittany Sparks led the Eagles with three shots apiece

With seven saves, senior goalkeeper Tiera Como has 343 for her career and is only seven away from the school record of 350 set by Katie Grothkopp from 1999-2000.

With the loss, the Eagles fall to 0-11 all-time against members of the Pacific 10 Conference. Eastern will host No. 23 Long Beach State on Friday (Sept. 22) in Cheney in another non-conference game.
