Junior Abby Jensen of the Eastern Washington University women's soccer team had the lone goal for Eastern on Friday (Sept. 28) in Seattle, Wash., against Washington. The Huskies won 2-1.
Jensen gave the Eagles (3-4) the lead going into halftime with a goal 12 yards out to the left side post in the 35th minute. It was Jensen's first goal of the season and third in her career as an Eagle.
Washington (3-7) then struck back with two goals in the second half, in the 85th and 86th minutes.
Senior Cyeeta Mott had a total of three shots which put her 20 away from the record of 122 by Beth Russell (2002-05).
The Eagles will travel to San Jose State to play a team they have never seen before. The Spartens are 1-6-2 on the season. The Spartans lost to Cal State Fullerton Friday (Sept. 28) 1-0 in double overtime.
