Eagles Lose First Conference Match 3-1

The Eastern Washington University women's soccer team opened up Big Sky Conference play on the road with a loss to the University of Northern Colorado 3-1 Friday (Oct. 12) in Greeley, Colo.

Junior Brittney Doran had Eastern's (5-5, 0-1 BSC) lone goal off of a penalty kick in the 43rd minute of the game. That was Doran's first goal as an Eagle.

The Bears (5-6-1, 1-0 BSC) then struck back in the second half with three goals of their own. The goals were scored by Megan Miller in the 46th minute by a corner kick, in the 57th minute by Sydney Vandervelde off of a penalty kick, and in the 77th minute by Teresa Prais with the assist from Megan Miller.

The Eagles had a total of 13 shots to UNC's 20.

Eastern will play the University of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff Sunday, Oct. 14 at 12:05 p.m. before heading home for a couple of games next weekend.
