She was the only player to eclipse double-digit wins, as finished the year at 10-11, which included an impressive 5-3 mark in Big Sky Conference play. She won 10 of her first 14 matches in the 2011 campaign, all of which were in straight sets. She had back-to-back victories against Idaho State and Weber State to open the Big Sky season, and then improved her league record to 5-0 with consecutive wins over Montana, Northern Colorado and Montana State. Coincidentally, she won all three of those conference matches after outlasting her opponents in a first-set tiebreaker. Ricks was selected as April’s Scholar Athlete of the Month by the EWU Athletic Department - the only freshman to earn the honor during the 2010-11 school year, and she was named to the Big Sky All-Academic team.
